My wife has stage 4 colon cancer dx for 1 year. How much time is left?
had major surgery on right side removed sept.08 liver, colon resection. the liver cancer back in now, still undergoing chemotherapy. doctor says it will not stand up more may take part of your new liver? which is again with more pain. in liver
Of course everyone is different and you can not predict how long anyone will live, but we know the survival rate at 5 years for stage 4 colon cancer is 5% as having surgery in the liver again - that's something we really should talk to your doctor about. However, surgery to remove liver mets usually done if the patient has 1 maybe 2 lesions. You may want to get a second opinion or try a clinical trial.
