sugar colony
Where are all the microbiologists? I need an answer to my question!?

How do you tell the difference between M. mycoides subtilis and M.? Both are gram-positive spore-forming, and I have done extensive testing on the bacteria unknown (is half my grade in my microbiology class if get this unknown corretly identified). I have already done a test reaction of urease, the hemolysis reaction, the slope of the TSI and buttocks, hydrolysis starch, sugar fermentation, a lipase test, methyl red, gelatin, etc … but some of my tests have come back either inconclusive or I'm getting results contrary to what lies ahead. According to my data, I got it down to these two. What is a test that can be used to tell a definite difference? Maybe something that shows a difference in the appearance of colonies on certain types of agar? Or can someone guide me to a website with more information on the description of these bacteria? Virgodoll … yes, you're right, sorry for the typo .. it's B. subtilis and B. mycoides, Mycobacillus not … thanks
